Decrease Inflammation Naturally ( Dr Northrup )
http://www.drnorthrup.com/eletter-current.php
Over the years, I've seen countless people like this man heal all kinds of inflammatory problems, including arthritis, by following a whole natural food diet and also detoxing themselves on all levels; body, mind, and spirit. The reason this works is because nature, in all her wisdom, has provided us with many safe, natural alternatives to NSAIDs and pharmaceutical COX-2 inhibitors.
A wide variety of edible plants and herbs contain COX-2 inhibitors, but in a combination that is balanced, so they arrest inflammation without inhibiting immune response, compromising kidney function, or causing GI inflammation. In contrast, synthetic, purified COX-1 and -2 inhibitors in drugs do not contain natural ingredients that balance their potential side effects.
One of the best herbal choices is green tea (Camellia sinensis), which contains 51 known anti-inflammatory compounds, including salicylic acid, a naturally occurring COX-2 inhibitor. But unlike aspirin, which also contains salicylic acid, long-term use of green tea actually prevents the formation of ulcers because it contains at least 15 different anti-ulcer agents. (The only herb that's more potent for healing the GI system is ginger.) Recommended dosage is three cups of tea or three capsules of green tea extract per day. When choosing a green tea supplement, look for a product that has at least 50 percent epigallocatechin gallate (catechin) content. Turmeric, rosemary, ginger, and oregano are other commonly used herbs that have anti-inflammatory activity. The list goes on and on; I've only scratched the surface !
In addition to adding these inflammation-quenching herbs to your diet, the following steps will also help prevent inflammation throughout your body....... click link for more
