Fountainpens

I love fountainpens.

My first love at the age of six ,a maroon Parker Lady with a tiny gold nib. I took it to school one day and it was stolen, but I got it back.

Many years later, somewhere in the 80s , I lost my dear Pary Lady , in town somehwere , I think. *sighs* Lost forever. I never did get her back.

The other day , I gave a friend an inexpensive, but very yummy Parker Reflex Fountain Pen as a Christmas present. She borrowed mine once and fell in love with it. Anyway , her delight soon turned to despair as she LOST ita few days later or it was stolen and despite chasing round the whole of Stockholm she was unable to replace it. I must have bought the last two Parker Reflex Fountain Pens. She was told they were not getting any more in. The other department stores have also stopped selling fountain pens.

What IS the world coming to ? When I do see fountainpens now , they are all hugely expensive , Rolls Royce versions. On my visits to Bradford , which is where I come from , sadly all the decent shops have disappeared. WHSmiths and Boots are hopeless. Is this typcial of the rest of the country ? I wonder. Lackaday .

Anayway , a Parker Reflex Fountain Pen with Comfort Grip is what I am looking for.

Should you find one in your local supermarket do let me know cost P&P . Thanks .
Blessed be all fountain pens and ink cartridges, especially the inexpnsive ones that make writing such a pleasure.

Wow Rami - that was quick ! Good to know that you are in the fountainpen club !

Akademibokhandeln used to do inexpensive cartridges, ( not anymore , just the small ones ) I've also got a small pump that you can attach , but they are a bit fiddly and don't hold much.

Merry Christmas to you too Rami and and lots of happiness in 2007 xxx

Nice sentiments. ;-)

I use a Lamy 2000 fountain pen almost every day. It fills from a bottle via a piston.

A Lamy 2000 has me thinking of Harry Potter's Nimbus 2000. You have a precious daily companion there, speedmaster :-)

I shall look out for the Lamy 2000.
Thanks for your feedback !
