It's a kind of a tradition to hand in tax returns in person actually on the day. The tax office stays open until midnight. Cars drive by and hand their forms to the specially appointed tax attendants. There is a carneval like atmosphere. Hot-dog vendours , and staff from a nearby health clinic offering free energy massages all day until midnight.
My tax forms had been ready a week ago, but I signed them today and put them in a large A4 sized envelope. I noticed that some people did not bother with envelopes , just posted them as they were. Others were filling in details right before posting them.
