The Emperor

The Emperor.

Tarot card number: 4
astrologically sign: Aries

Father. Provider. Conventional. Square. Number 4.

I see Zeus sitting fairly and squarely on the top of the mountain with a great view of the surroundings. He is powerful . A manager . A CEO. He is also divinely guided. When I draw this card , I am in touch with The Emperor in me; the male side, the DO-er. The part of me that calls for action and getting things done. Projects ? Assignments? Which ones ? Which ones is he urging me to focus on ? Where is my focus ? " To Do " / " Could Do" list.

When the Emperor appears , he raises financial and material questions.

He is also concerned with the physical body. Funny how the two often go together.

The Emperor can suggest that a man of authority or significance who will stand by you and support you, in personal as well as business matters. " I am confident " ; " I am assertive" .The Emperor suggests that you will be able to influence people and have a great sense of your own authority. Speak from your seat of power , the solar plexus.

Sometimes the Emperor appears warning you to watch out: " There's a man of influence in your life who is using bullying tactics , being overbearing and abusing his power "

( Who do I know that is like that? Is there anyone like that in my life ? Could it be a part of me ? The Abuser ? In what ways do I abuse my strength , influence or power ? Who comes to mind ? )

Another aspect of this card is failed ambitions, a craving for status and insecurity around a man of authority.

( Authority - I have always had issues with authority and dogma. I have rebelled. There is also Rebel in me that challenges The Critic and others. Am I stepping on someone's toes ? Who is stepping on my toes and pushing my buttons ? Awareness and choice. What do I intend to do about it ? )

Positive associations : achievement, authority, protection, support, trustworthy, discipline, provider, consolidation, reason, The Will .The Emperor is a sign of achievement and honour and in many cases can represent a strong male influence such as a father, husband/partner or man of significance in your life, or person of authority such as a boss.

Challenges : weakness, immaturity, failed ambition, status driven, tyrannical, untrustworthiness.

Other thoughts :

What is your relationship with the male principal ?

Conversation with the Emperor:

As I look at the Emperor impressively sitting there on his throne, commanding respect , albeit in a gentle way. Firm but kind. I feel I could easily sit on his knee and have a chat. I feel safe in his presence. I may whisper things in his ear. Flirt with him a little , maybe tease him. I may ask him what he is thinking. I could ask him what needs doing. I could ask him what he wants. I could ask him for his advice and his help. Does he have any useful suggestions about putting my finances in order ? He must know about money, spending it and investing it , getting money to work for you .

Affirmation : " I develop and give expression to my male aspects ."
