Purification

Have started PURIFICATION process in preparation for IMBOLC 1st- 2nd Feb 2006

This is a pagan festival , traditionally a time of purification - it's probably why I'm cleaning and organising my home also meditating upon what I would like to see grow in health and strength this year: for myself, family, friends, community, the Earth, and will ask for Bridget/ Bride's blessing - she is the deity / saint


" Imbolc traditions centre around light and purification. Candles may be lit in each room of a house to honour the returning sun, or in each window from sundown on Candlemas Eve (February 1st) until dawn. This is an appropriate time to cleanse or bless your house, to seek inspiration, and to purify yourself of limiting thoughts and negative attitudes. Dairy foods are particular appropriate to eat on this festival of calving and lambing. ""

Imbolc may mean 'in the belly', a reference to the seeds of life ready to stir again in the cold earth, and to the purification of the Maiden so that she may conceive the divine child at the following festival- though I am taking the divine child to be my business.

In my DREAM last night - I see a woman in a field with many chickens and geese. She sees me looking at her and gives me an egg. I hold it in tenderly in both hands and thank her. Then I realise it is cracked and for a minute disappointed. As I go on my way, I look at the egg and the cracks and notice a few feathers and a beak protruding .. it's already started to hatch and I think the chick is dead . I hold it anyway , warming the egg in both hands, giving it healing Reiki and the chick hatches, alive ! It then starts running around in the kitchen. I close the door so that it can't get out.
